Match Reaction:

Siân Moore, HKCR Head of Performance Pathways

"We are really pleased with the development we've seen within players across this camp and the two matches. Obviously, we are really fortunate to get the results as well, but that wasn't a big focus for us – that was driving development for players on-field and off-field and making them more complete, confident, skilful and adaptable players in order to progress on to the next level.”

The players will now get a bit of rest over Christmas. Then a lot of them will go into New Year's Day Tournament [taking place at Hong Kong Football Club] and then be in our Hysan Academy, which starts in January. There we will have continued physical development in our gym with our S&C staff, but also some unit-specific time as well – and our Hysan Youth Sevens competition in Hong Kong will start soon after that.”

Liam Gordon, Hong Kong China Men’s U20s Second-Row

On the win over the Dragons Barbarians: “It's always great to get out there and put a lot of points on. I think we came up against a good side, and the game had good physical contact throughout. I thought we stuck to our process and had good structure, which is credit to our coaching and training we've done.

On the trip to Singapore: “It is always great to be on tour, and we had a good group of boys who were lucky enough to go out there. After the first 15 minutes in rainy conditions we figured out that we couldn't really play our usual style of footy, such as off-loading and getting the ball out wide quickly. But we grinded it out and then started ticking it over, and we managed to put 52 points on so it was a good outing.”
