BOARD AND MANAGEMENT

The current President of Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR), Mr. Peter Duncan, has advised the Board of his intention to step down from the role of President upon the appointment of a successor. Given this situation, HKCR is initiating the nomination process relating to the appointment of the next President of HKCR.
HKCR would like to thank Peter for his very significant contributions to the organisation in various capacities over many years of service. His insights, knowledge and experience have been invaluable to HKCR and have helped the organisation to navigate a wide range of challenges and opportunities since he took up the role of President in 2016.
In accordance with the requirements of the Hong Kong China Rugby Articles of Association (section 17.1g), for an individual to be eligible to be the President, they must either be an elected Vice President or a former elected Director of HKCR who has served for a continuous period of not less than two years. The Articles of Association can be found at hkrugby.com/about-hkcr/resource/download.
To be considered for the role applicants should confirm their interest by emailing Sarah Hooper, HKCR Chief Operating Officer at [email protected] no later than Friday 16th January 2026.
Within the application, eligible individuals should include a summary outlining relevant experience relating to the role of President, the motivation to undertake the role, as well as the potential value which applicants could bring to HKCR if elected as President.
Following receipt of all nominations, the President will be elected by the Board, with the Chairman having an additional casting vote in the event of a tied vote. This vote is scheduled for the next HKCR Board meeting on Wednesday 3 February 2026.
